John Simoneau

John is a Principal in CrossCountry Consulting’s Boston office focused on serving the financial services sector. He leverages deep expertise to guide asset management, insurance and banking institutions in process improvement opportunities related to governance, controls, and finance operations. He is trusted by senior executives and board members for his strategic perspective, keen foresight, and ability to break down complex accounting, tax, and regulatory issues into actionable options.
Previously, John spent 38 years with KPMG in both the Audit and Advisory practices which included working in Hartford, New York City, and Boston. John spent the latter part of his KPMG career serving as lead audit partner for some of KPMG’s largest global asset-management clients. Holding numerous leadership roles, he shaped and retooled offerings that drove firm revenue growth by addressing changing trends and expectations during various financial cycles. He built cohesive client-service teams that spanned multiple countries and cultures, providing comprehensive audit services including internal controls, M&A, and IPO support.
John also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and previously served as a Board Member of Capital Workforce Partner for 26 years. John graduated from Boston College with a BS in Accounting and Computer Science. He is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
